Canter's exclusive educational partner, Walden University's Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership supports the needs of educators at all levels and at every stage of their careers, including new and veteran classroom teachers, faculty and administrators, and career-changers interested in teaching. The college is home to more than 37,000 students and alumni. Walden University's Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership, dedicated to enhancing educator effectiveness and improving student achievement, was identified by U.S. News & World Report as having the largest online graduate program in education by enrollment (May 2010).
With a shared vision of helping teachers enhance their effectiveness in the classroom, Walden and Canter courses are rooted in the same content, feature many of the same educational experts, and are focused on a theory-to-practice approach. While Canter courses are self-paced to maximize flexibility for the working educator, Walden’s courses follow an instructor-led model that encourages online collaboration, while its degrees emphasize long-term career growth.

“Canter and Corwin have a shared history of collaborating with nationally recognized experts in the field of education to bring the most relevant and current programs and materials to K–12 educators. As the Canter team develops its courses, we look for the resources that will best meet the course objectives. Often our search ends with a Corwin publication, not because we have Corwin in mind, but because of a common philosophy of practical, hands-on application for teachers and educational excellence.”
—Kathy Winberry, Senior Vice President, Product Development
